Tesamorelin

Tesamorelin is a stabilized analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that prompts the pituitary to release growth hormone in natural pulses.

In phase 3 trials in patients with HIV-associated lipodystrophy, tesamorelin reduced visceral abdominal fat by roughly 15 to 18 percent over 26 weeks while raising IGF-1, and it is approved under the name Egrifta for that condition.

This selective effect on visceral fat continues to drive research into GHRH signaling and how it shapes fat distribution.
