KPV

KPV is a tripeptide corresponding to the C-terminal end of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone, retaining the parent hormone’s anti-inflammatory activity without its pigmentation effects.

Cell studies show it blocks activation of NF-kB, a central switch for inflammatory gene expression, and reduces production of inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1 beta.

In mouse models of colitis, KPV treatment lowered inflammatory markers in colon tissue and sped recovery of body weight compared to untreated animals.

This anti-inflammatory profile is driving ongoing research into KPV’s role in gut and skin inflammation.
