TB500 is a synthetic fragment of thymosin beta-4, a naturally occurring protein that binds actin and helps cells reorganize their internal scaffolding during movement and repair.

Animal studies have found that this actin-binding activity drives keratinocyte migration, faster wound closure, and new blood vessel formation at injury sites.

Research on cardiac and skeletal muscle injury models has also shown reduced scarring and improved tissue organization after treatment.
